About

Khari

With a multifaceted background as an educator, urban planner, and outreach specialist, Khari brings a wealth of experience in creatively addressing community challenges through active participation.

As a Planning Outreach Specialist for the City of Milwaukee, Khari played an instrumental role in the city’s Growing MKE zoning reform initiative. Collaborating with city officials and community organizations, he gathered feedback from residents representing Milwaukee’s diverse population through survey tools, community meetings and interactive kiosks.

During his time as a planning intern for City of Brookfield (WI), Khari was key in updating the neighborhood plan for a revitalized Towne Centre. Working alongside engineers, he analyzed infrastructure capacities and engaged with local business and property owners to understand commercial market dynamics. His efforts in hosting community meetings and creating engaging literature and maps laid the groundwork for a renewed vision for the area.

Ultimately, his experience as a public-school teacher continues to inform his work. Whether he’s making complex policy more understandable or designing engaging public involvement meetings, Khari believes through active listening and open communication we can foster life-changing improvements in communities across Wisconsin.
